Sports and Sociocultural Section

The Sports and Sociocultural Section, formerly the Institutional Sports and Performing Arts, aims to promote physical wellness, teamwork, and artistic expression among its members and the entire DLSMHSI community. By organizing sports leagues, cultural events, and artistic performances, Sports and Sociocultural Section not only cultivates talents but also fosters camaraderie and a sense of community among participants. In line with Lasallian principles of excellence and inclusivity, the program seeks to provide opportunities for all members of the institution to participate and excel in sports and the arts, regardless of their background or skill level.

PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES

  • To provide the DLSMHSI community with suitable opportunities for involvement in sports and cultural activities.
  • To establish DLSMHSI as one of the active institutions in sports and performing arts across the region.
  • To ensure that DLSMHSI is represented in notable sports and cultural inter-school and inter-organization competitions.
  • To establish and cultivate an appreciation among students and employees for the role of sports and culture despite their academic and work obligations.
  • To create a platform to ensure that Lasallian principles, culture, and values are preserved, lived, and shared through sports and performing arts.
  • To facilitate, support, and promote the health and wellness program of the Institution for both student and non-student sectors.

This process allows us to pinpoint areas for improvement and development in individuals. It also helps us assess an athlete's conditioning level, strengths, and weaknesses, and determine the necessary workouts, drills, and functional training exercises to achieve fitness goals.

Implementing such a program for sports development enhances our athletes' performance, crucial for success in team or individual games and competitions. Ultimately, it ensures the well-being and physical fitness of our students.

It's a festival of various sports tournaments, including "fun games" specifically designed for inter-departmental (employees) and inter-collegiate (students) participation in one institutional sports event.

This three-month-long sports activity is the only institutional event at DLSMHSI where all sectors come together to showcase their talents, enjoy, bond, and make new friends. The objective of this event is to support the health and wellness program, foster unity and camaraderie within the DLSMHSI community, and serve as a platform for promoting Lasallian themes, values, and culture.

  • FORMATION, SOLIDARITY AND COMMITMENT (FSC)

Launched in 2016, FSC is an activity that focuses on the holistic development of our student-athletes and student-artists, including coaches. These groups of young individuals represent DLSMHSI in various competitions.

The activity consists of two parts: Recollection and Team Building. The recollection program (Formation) is based on a module specially designed for varsities, coaches, and members of the performing arts group. This program aims to establish a team-oriented approach motivated by Lasallian core values, emphasizing the "ANIMO" spirit rather than solely focusing on results.

The Team Building program (Solidarity) comprises various physical and mental activities that develop trust, communication, and collaboration among team members. This enhances teamwork and camaraderie in a Lasallian way.
