School and Programs | Special Health Sciences Senior High School | DLSMHSI

DLSMHSI proudly introduced its unique high school program, the Special Health Sciences Senior High School, in 2016. The program was approved by the Department of Education in August 2015 and formally issued a Government Permit in October 2015.

This unique program, blending Academic-STEM Track with health-related courses, prepares students for various health sciences fields leading to Doctor of Medicine. Emphasizing the Lasallian healing ministry, the curriculum integrates Public Understanding of Science in Health (PUSH) to highlight the importance of science in healthcare. Through laboratory and field exposures and an Investigatory Project, students gain practical knowledge. Internship Program in the senior years offers real-world experience, aiding students in career path determination. Additionally, certificate programs are available for skill enhancement, ensuring employability at graduation, with opportunities for higher education at DLSMHSI.

In line with the vision and mission of DLSMHSI and guided by the teachings of St. John Baptist de La Salle, the SHSSHS department commits to:

Prepare and form Senior High students as future medical and allied health professionals who value the Lasallian healing ministry;
Engage students in the world of research through investigatory project, which serves as the culmination of their theoretical knowledge and exposure;
Create and develop sustainable workforce of Senior High graduates who shall be employable, productive, and competitive; and
Design and create a curriculum that assists students in determining their career path appropriate to their skills and capabilities.
