
Center for Inter-Professional Education and Practice
The Center for Inter-Professional Education and Practice (CIPEP) is established in 2020 as part of the Academic Services of DLSMHSI. It is tasked to provide leadership, manpower and directions in Inter-professional Education and Practice in the Institution.
OBJECTIVES
- Develop and implement an Interprofessional Education (IPE) framework to ensure academic excellence in IPE and compliance with accreditation standards.
- Plan, develop, and evaluate the Interprofessional Education and Practice (IPEP) curriculum as well as the Continuing Professional Education program.
- Provide support to the faculty in their efforts to implement IPEP initiatives throughout the curriculum, including didactic, experiential, and co-curricular offerings.
- Facilitate on-going assessment and improvement of the IPEP program.
- Spearhead faculty research and scholarships related to IPEP.
SERVICES

Training and Orientation on Interprofessional Education
Guided by an IPE framework, the Center conducts the orientation and training of faculty members who will be teaching the GE-IPE 101 course every semester.

Partnerships with both local and international institutions for IPE initiatives and research
- Conducts meetings with existing and potential partners to introduce IPEP
- Establishes connections with universities and institutions for possible research initiatives and activities related to IPE

Continuing Professional Development Programs related to Interprofessional Education
- Spearheads conferences, seminars, and workshops on Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Practice (IPEC)
- Participates in partnership activities with other institutions on continuing professional development programs on IPE

Student activities to promote Interprofessional Education in the curriculum
- Initiates enrichment activities on IPE such as the yearly conduct of the IPE Contest for students and the Inter-university IPE contest
- Promotes student research on IPE through the conduct of the Student Research forum.

Face-to-face and online consultation on Interprofessional Education research and initiatives to DLSMHSI students and faculty members, and other institutions.
Provides valuable insights on research proposals and projects related to IPE
