Center for Continuing Education and Innovation

The Center for Continuing Education and Innovation (CCEI) is an academic service unit under the Academics. Established in June 2017, the Center is mandated to lead the instructional design processes and administer the technology integration programs of the Institute, particularly the Online Campus component of the different colleges and academic departments by facilitating technology-rich teaching and learning through collaborative curricular innovation, including new course development, course revision, online courses, faculty/ASF training/support, and service reliability and consistency.

TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT

  • Objectives

    Lead the instructional design processes and administer the technology integration programs of the Institute particularly the On-line Campus component of the different colleges and academic departments by facilitating technology-rich teaching and learning through collaborative curricular innovation, including new course development, course revision, online courses, faculty/ASP training/support and service reliability and consistency.

  • Webify Series

    To introduce emerging web-based solutions to both teaching and non-teaching staff of DLSMHSI, CCEI launched this training workshop which aims to deliver training on various topics in software solutions and build their skills on how to use featured web-based tools in their line of work. The primary goal of the training workshop is to equip the Lasallian community with the latest applications that can help users to manage and to meet their productivity needs.

  • Innovative Teaching Pedagogies

    The CCEI is a supervised training in utilizing educational technology tools that positively impact educators and learners. This focuses on using innovative pedagogical models that can support the teaching environment. In addition, this will utilize student interest and empower them using technological tools that make digital and physical classrooms efficient and comfortable.

  • DLSMHSI EdTech Day

    The DLSMHSI Educational Technology Day shall be a yearly event wherein technology providers shall be invited to showcase their educational technology. This event is an essential part of  CCEI’s measures toward achieving academic strategies articulated in the DLSMHSI Innovative Education and Technology Integration Framework.

  • DLSMHSI eLearning Summit

    The DLSMHSI eLearning Summit is a key event where administrators, faculty members, academic support personnel, and other interested individuals of DLSMHSI and select eLearning experts from other La Salle schools come together to share their knowledge and best practices in implementation. This likewise advances the eLearning agenda of the Institute to produce better results. Moreover, it immerses education and stakeholders in the digital age changing learning and development landscape.

  • DLSMHSI Robosports Tournament

    The DLSMHSI Robosports Tournament is an annual robotics competition that focuses on the  integration of robotics and sports like hockey, sumo, and boxing in promoting science and technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics among robotics enthusiasts of all ages. The DRST is organized in partnership with Pilipinas Robosports. The DLSMHSI RoboSports Tournament is held at the De La Salle Animo Center, City of Dasmariñas, Cavite. This event is open to all public and private K-12 and Higher Educational Institutions nationwide. It is an excellent venue for student roboticists and robotics coaches to showcase their passion and skills in building, designing, and programming robots to a broader audience as applied in the field of robotics sports and robotics research.

  • Continuing Professional Development

    The primary goal of the unit is to foster continuous learning and skill development among the academic and healthcare community associated with DLSMHSI. The unit offers a diverse range of educational programs, workshops, seminars, and training sessions tailored to meet the evolving needs of professionals in the medical and health sciences field.


    CCEI aims to enhance the knowledge, expertise, and competencies of participants through evidence-based practices, emerging trends, and advancements in medical and health sciences education. By engaging in CCEI programs, individuals can stay updated with the latest research, technologies, and best practices in their respective fields, ultimately enhancing their professional growth and promoting quality healthcare delivery.

Services

The Center for Continuing Education and Innovation (CCEI) provides services intended to encourage innovative teaching practices in the DLSMHSI Academics. The center has six major services.

  • Continuing Professional Education

    The Continuing Professional Education is delivered in coordination with other DLSMHSI units/departments. This includes the implementation of Professional Regulation Commission-mandated tracks for professional development, specifically inclined to clinical practice enhancement, academic competency enhancement, and self-directed enhancement programs.

  • Language Training and Professional Development

    The Language Training and Professional Development Unit offers programs for individuals who wish to become competent in the said areas and other related skills. It aims to enhance and develop English language proficiency and executive communication competencies which are vital skills that empower students and professionals to actively participate in the global community. The unit is dedicated to providing opportunities for individuals to communicate effectively, globally, and competitively.

  • Learning Objects Development and Training

    The Learning Objects Development and Training Unit provides leadership in the development of instruction and training to facilitate the integration of technology in the teaching-learning activities by facilitating the conversion of instructional materials from face-to-face to online approach in support of the blended learning program and other flexible learning activities of the institution.

  • Online Course Development

    The Online Course Development Unit provides leadership in promoting and maintaining an effective online learning environment across Colleges and Special Health Sciences Senior High School through well-prepared and in-line courses using the iLS.Cloud blueprint and central course management tools.

  • Robotics

    The Robotics Unit provides leadership in developing and integrating robotics programs in the curriculum across Colleges and Special Health Sciences Senior High School to produce technologically-adept graduates who could provide solutions to real-world health problems using robotics.

  • Virtual Learning Environment

    The Virtual Learning Environment Unit is mainly responsible for ensuring that the educational technologies of DLSMHSI are updated and functional to support the online learning and other Flexible Learning activities of the Institution. It manages and maintains the day-to-day operations of the Institutional Learning Management System (ILMS) and other educational technologies used in teaching.
